If breaking an alliance is immoral, then finishing off a party is sinful. Many parties have broken alliances, for instance SAD, JDU, et al. But, such parties haven’t been eradicated.

In 2019, Shiv Sena didn’t try to finish off the BJP. So, it’s wrong to compare exiting NDA, with destroying the Shiv Sena.

Also, in 2019, the BJP too formed a government with the very NCP, which now does not have Hindutva, has links with D gang, wants to finish off Shiv Sena, etc. as per the BJP.

BJP also formed an unholy government with PDP in Kashmir. PDP is an openly pro-Pakistan party. But, BJP formed a government with PDP out of political and situational compulsions. Indians understand that and that’s why don’t want to erase BJP as a party.

Similarly, Shiv Sena too had political and situational compulsions to form a government with Congress and NCP. They are as follows:

1. BJP broke the power sharing agreement with Shiv Sena, in 2019. It was agreed that power would be shared equally. Obviously, the number of seats was not a criterion. Otherwise, Shiv Sena would have equal number of candidates, as those of BJP’s, standing for elections, back then. Number of candidates running for elections on Shiv Sena’s ticket was already lesser than that of BJP’s, then how could Shiv Sena win equal or more number of seats than the BJP in the 2019 assembly elections? Therefore, this argument that Shiv Sena did not have equal number of seats as those of BJP’s to share power equally, does not hold any water.

2. Shiv Sena realised in 2019 for sure that the BJP, particularly under Modi-Shah, wants to finish off Shiv Sena, so that this new BJP can split Maharashtra into at least 3 pieces, namely, Bombay, Vidarbha and Rest of Maharashtra. This new BJP, has some leaders as those who were against the Samyukta Maharashtra (United Maharashtra) during the late 1950s. These leaders even killed at least 106 peaceful members of the Samyukta Maharashtra Samiti. In their Martyrdom, Hutatma Chowk was named so in South Mumbai.

The Maharashtrian community voted for the BJP during 2014 and 2019 elections, both at the centre and state level, as this new BJP was obviously the best option to fight the China-Pakistan nexus. This new BJP did not show its intentions of splitting Maharashtra so explicitly, back then. But domestically, for the Marathi-speaking community, this new BJP could turn out to be its nemesis, as far as Samyukta Maharashtra is concerned.

Last but not the least, the Shinde group is short-sighted, power-hungry, over-confident, treacherous, and greedy bunch, who will most likely not get elected again. BJP knows this and it has fairly succeeded in finishing off the Shiv Sena. Hope better sense prevails among the Marathi Manoos.

Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra! 🇮🇳
