Hey Anton, I enjoyed your video, but I wanted to say a few things. The galaxy classification chart is not a representation of how galaxies evolve over time; instead, it simply shows what types of galaxies exist and how we classify them based on their shape. We still don't really know how galaxies first formed, and we don't have much evidence to go off of currently since we are well past the period of galactic formation. Also, galactic collisions are extremely complicated events, and it is by no means guaranteed that a collision will produce a spiral (If I had to guess, I would say it is far more likely that a collision would produce an elliptical galaxy in the end if they don't destroy themselves). For the best odds though, I think you should try to put the two galaxies much farther apart so they have some more energy to turn into rotation, but not so far apart they they tear through each other.

pretty sure to get the spirals one galaxy needs to interact with the other with a sort of highly eccentric orbit repeatedly interacting with and flying away from each other

Hey there Anton, nice video once again! But I think you meant to say elliptical galaxy instead of spiral galaxy...the Milky Way is a Spiral galaxy but IC 1101 for example is an elliptical one

Spiral Galaxys collide and form elliptical galaxies and not ellipticals form Spirla Galaxies?

Anton, Spiral galaxies are created when irregular galaxies have old dim stars, and they move t the middle creating a spiral. Of course, that can only happen when a super massive black hole is born in the middle of the irregular galaxies. After all young stars die in a spiral galaxy, they become old and dim, then start orbiting the black hole, creating an elliptical galaxy. Irregular becomes spiral, spiral becomes elliptical, then elliptical dies.
