I'm 68 years old and a lifetime music fan and I just discovered this album. What a masterpiece in my humble opinion. Even though I don't remember hearing it before, when I listen to the songs I have vivid flashbacks of my childhood in the 60s. To me this music encapsulates the feeling of that decade: the hippy-peace movement, mod clothes, flower-power, psychedelia, etc. The intricate melodies, vocal harmonies, interesting arrangements, and the ever-present mystical, magical, mellotron has made this one of my all-time favorite albums.

This is not underrated by music lovers. The work still shines as brightly as it did on its first release. A classic. Much loved.

It's wonderful to discover a great album from the 60s, now that I am in my 60s.

A masterpiece that is so appallingly underrated it's insane. Should have sold millions.

Absolutely one of the best albums of the '60s (and beyond) ... it was a shame that it did not have much luck when it came out, partly because of the dissolution of a great band. Great voices, great lyrics, great Rod Argent. I think the Zombies have harvested less than they deserve.

So high an accomplishment for an album, it is baroque and elegant, but also hard rocking and psychedelic, the singing is irreverent and rebellious, yet soft and professional, it's amazing, it's been 8 years now that I listen to this album, still amazes me....

That's one of the traits of good music, real good music, that you can listen to the piece for the 100th time and you still learn something new, you stil get amazed by something new, you can discover something you didn't know.

I can see how people choose their music based on their own psyche, their needs and particular idiosyncrasy, say, the music can be somewhere from 1 to 10, but you will choose that particular style that fits your criteria, your own psyche.

I've never heard any Zombie music other than their big radio hits.
Wow! This is really good! They sound like a mixture of the Beach Boys and the Hollies with a wee bit of psychedelia added for depth and mystery. :)

Brilliant album! Timeless beauty . A classic that despite my interest in 60's music had never given the album a listen. Thanks for posting it!

The Zombies are touring the US right now performing this album in full. They're reassembled the original band, minus Paul Atkinson, who passed away a while back. Saw them tonight and they were amazing. They broke up around the time Odessey was released so they never toured behind it. 48 years later, they are.

This masterpiece is among my ten favourite albums of all time. I will listen and enjoy it until the day I die.
Words cannot describe what it means to me....
It's absolutely perfect, brilliant, great...both in terms of composition and production. Rod Argent and Chris White reached the peak of their talent on this amazing record. And, of course, I do not want to forget the wonderful voice of Colin Blunstone.
