Well. Am amazed. Expected NEVER to hear an acknowledgment or apology from Austria. Perhaps there has been one before now, but this is the first I’ve heard. And we hope they can be trusted to keep their word. This is the first skerrick of respect I’ve felt for Austrians in 70 years.

It took Austrian politicians until the 1990s to accept responsibility for anything that happened to my family and Austrian Jews. My mother was there an 8 year old who said all her life the Austrians were worse than the German occupiers. They all creeped there way out of paying any restriction towards their fellow Jewish citizens if they possible could. I have never visited Austria and I never would.
