When you send a watch in for Omega full service,
what do you get, and how long will it take?

Happy SpeedyTuesday guys!
That’s just what we will find out today with my 90’s speedmaster automatic date that I sent in for service a while ago.
I had gotten water on the dial in in the movement and it was imperative that I did not allow it to get worse so I sent it to Omega. Not just for an overhaul but for a replacement dial and bezel as well.

Oh mega did not stop there and that’s what we will look at today. What does omega do a standard service thing beyond just the movement.

There have been forums that say do not send your watch to Omega and today we will find out if that’s true or not and if so why and if not why.

I’m super stoked to have my little speedy back and I hope you guys enjoy this upload. Have a great Tuesday!

If you haven’t already,

As always thanks again!

Personally I'm not a fan of patina on dials, your watch looks great after the service, I'll be sending my omega watch to them for the next service, thanks for sharing.

Just last week I collected my Longines admiral from the 70s, an eBay bargain which I then went and cracked the acrylic crystal on bending the hands in the process and stopping the movement. I bit the bullet and sent it to Longines asking that they fixed, cleaned it, kept the blue tritium dial and gave it a light polish as it looked like the case and bracelet had been kept in a bag of stones. They have done exactly as I asked except for the case which looks like new, am I bothered..no it looks crisp and factory fresh like it has been done as a labour of love, all for just over 200 English, I'm pleased as punch as we say over here 😁

Looks stunning. Can't stop looking at it. Sort of like when you drive the car you love and keep looking back at it after you've parked it.

I have a two tone, speedmaster automatic, Marui with albino dial that I just got it back from service. I took it into my local Omega boutique in person. Given the complexity of the modular chronograph movement I didn’t want to entrust it to anyone else but Omega. I gave specific instructions not to polish and just to do a mechanical service. They were very accommodating and even called to get permission to do some dial work; replacing hands and lume. I was extremely happy with the results. The cost was $900 and while expensive, the value of this watch keeps going up and having the peace of mind that comes from a competent service was well worth it.

I have an Omega Railmaster Chronograph 2812.52.37 that I purchased brand new in 2005. I have never gotten the watch serviced. About a month ago the top right pusher finally popped and fell off. The stop watch function still works though without the pusher. I just start it with my finger nail and works fine. I contacted the Omega dealer in my area. They said replacing the pusher should be part of the $750 complete overhaul service. I guess I’m pretty happy that my first issue happened 17 years into ownership. I hope I am as happy as the owner of this video when I get my watch back.

Sooo, that's exactly what I had to do. I inherited my great-grandfather's 60's Omega Seamaster. I truly adorned the classic and minimalist size and structure of that piece. Unfortunately, it would only work for all of an hour after it was removed from the watch winder and donned. After 2 unsuccessful trips to local watch makers who both said they wouldn't be comfortable touching such a piece; my last option was the Omega Store. It was dropped in January, 2024 and I just got an email to pick it up TODAY.... I'm ecstatic! I'll be making the drive tomorrow and will be back with an update.

Sent my SMP off around a week ago. It needed some work, and I got it for reasonably cheap so I figured I'd go all in for service

It’s a nice watch. It is an expensive service and it now has a new lease on life. It looks beautiful I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for sharing.

I recently bought a James bond Omega Seamaster that was in pretty rough condition for $2000 cad, $900 cad later and it looks as good as brand new out of the box. Now if it was some sort of rare fantastic watch I wouldnt, but it was simply a neglected watch that lost its luster. Couldnt be happier.

Patina is cool and all.. But a complete overhaul seems like a no brainer.. That looks amazing!

I'm about to send my triple date 3523.80 Speedmaster to Omega for a full service. I got it cheap and in excellent condition from Japan but I dont think it was ever serviced. $750 worth it to me. Yours is an excellent example. I think I will choose the Washington state service center as I've heard good things of it.

Great vid, I learned a lot from you. Rolex would never send any parts back. Great looking piece, I need one now lol..

Awesome looking watch! Congratulations on a successful repair and cleaning! I just recently bought a 1962 Omega Seamaster manual wind chronograph caliber 321 movement. The main wheel spring needs to be replaced as well as it's top chronograph pusher is missing. I was considering sending it to Omega for them to do the work. Thank you for your video, I will try to find somewhere else to send it now.

Thanks for this video! As I’m considering buying the same model, it’s good to see what Omega can do to rejuvenate it. My own experience with Omega service is nothing be excellent in Hong Kong. Unless you need such a specific part as you did, you get the watch back within a couple of days. Btw, I held my breath as you turned the date while the time was a 10, apparently before circling past the midnight. Also watchmakers advise to wind the watch before changing the time. You wouldn’t wanna have to send it back to Omega again ;-) Enjoy the Speedy!
