I've been using casting reels for decades, but you can bet I'll watch because I think there is always something we can learn!! I still love those old style round Ambassadeur reels, but I may have to get one of these new high speed low profile deals. Remember back when a 5.3:1 was considered fast? Gosh Mr. Houston, times have sure changed since round reels and flasher sonars, but God is still on the throne so all is well!! God bless you & Miss Chris and family!!

First casting reel was an Ambassador 5500 D when I was 14. I am 55 now and still will get a backlash from time to time. I still need a reminder now and them.

That reminds me when I first cast a bait casting reel it takes practice. Some guys I work with said that can't cast them and give up on it . Main thing I tell them don't give up on them just practice and adjust. I will suggest this vedieo to them and see if they try using them again. I'm just learning and this was so helpful! Opening the tension up makes so much sense. Since I had it so tight, I was over casting and on my back porch untangling the nest. Open it up and stop overcasting! going to practice tonight.
