God, I hope Japan actually starts building real functional Mecha.
I need to see that in my lifetime.

Why no one buys Japanese tanks.
"Because there is no demand"

That’s not actually the reason, the real reason is because it is too specialized. With Japan policy of not having offensive forces, the tank was design for a defensive battle of the homeland, so they also designed it for mountainous and urban areas because of Japan’s geography of being mountainous and urbanize, such as being very lighter than others, so they can go on most roads/bridges in Japan.

Because they have a policy of not supplying arms outside the mainland. It's literally national policy.

I wouldn't mind a Tank as reliable as a Toyota or Honda.

"a relatively inexpensive Abrams" - crikey! 🤣

Because most countries who could afford them can build their own.

Japan is too mountainous for tank warfare. They build tanks for specific point defense. Not to go charging across deserts and plains.

I wouldnt be surprised if japanese used Pokemon balls in ww3

Japan also very strictly regulates foreign arms sales. They do not allow the sale of any of their frontline weapons to foreign powers involved who are in active conflicts at all, and rarely deploy their own military, so the instance of Japanese weapons and equipment coming onto the market are exceedingly rare.

They have occasionally sold unarmed transport helicopters and planes to certain nations in small batches, as well as peripherals like radars and other tech, but overall do not provide arms to the larger global market.

As far as I know, there are no examples of post-ww2 Japanese military rifles on any market, for example.

As a kid i thought mech suits were awsome amd would be insane on the battlefeild but one well blaced shot by a tank or anti tank gun to the leg could technically reder them useless

That mech looks like some exec saw avatar was like “make that bitch happen!” to his employee and this is what we get

Nothing sound more terrifying than a war robot that runs inside a forers saying niko niko ni

They don’t offer tanks for export. That’s why. Afaik most of their military tech is for their own because of post WW2 policies.
