Picked one of these up from a model show today. Was marked £45 but the guy had a sale and I got it for £30! All sealed and everything. I’m really excited for this one (it’s gonna be quite a while!) thanks for the great review mate.

I was given this kit as a commission build. Now I am not the greatest modeller, but I was cheaper. Unfortunately whilst building it 2 things happened. My mom passed away and the mojo went with her for some time. The the guy I was building the kit for changed his mind as to which variant he wanted, but the fuselage, wings and everything were together and she had her first coat of paint. So the build stalled again as I couldn't bring myself to complete the build representing one type of Nimrod when clearly it wasn't. After two years, teh chap agreed to have my unstarted kit off me. The part complete kit is in my loft and YOU sir may have given me the boost to finish it. Cheers, Al

Good review of an iconic aircraft, there is one at R.A.F. Cosford which I visited last year and it is truly an impressive aircraft. yours Steve....

Good unboxing and kit discussion. The kit has been out for while and form what I've heard has its fit issues.

Just watched your review and you need to do some studying of aircraft before you try to do a review. Learn the difference between Elevators and Ailerons, Air Speed Indicators are instruments in the Flight Deck, cockpits are on fighter aircraft. Air speed indicators are fed by Pitot Pressure Probes on the side of the Nimrod. The Maid of Moray is not a variant but a name for one the the aircraft that was based at RAF Kinloss in Scotland. There was never a Mk3 Nimrod but it was a Mk4 that was scrapped during it's development. It's a Nose undercarriage on all aircraft, not front undercarriage. If you did further research you could find out what was carried in the bomb bay, for instance the Air Sea Rescue kit which was permanently carried in the centre of the bomb bay. Bits and bobs and lumps and bombs are aerials and pitot probes. Spey engines not Avons, Avons powered the Comet. Otherwise a fair effort.
