Wow! I can't even see the where the breaks were. I know this is from many years ago when you didn't show every step (darn!) - I miss not seeing the rest of the restoration. I am glad your current videos are longer and more in depth because all the detail work never gets old.

In the last several days since I ran across this channel I've come back to watch one video after another. Your work is beautiful and it's really interesting to listen to your explanations, too.

I have an enormous respect for your continuation of the traditions of our forfathers. It was wonderful to see.

Thank you.

An absolutely gorgeous table. A beautiful piece of walnut. I also really liked your first method of clamping the curve together.

My father was an old world artisan in antique restoration and the refinishing of fine furniture. His business served private customers and national institutions in the Washington D.C. area for over 40 years. Sadly, I was only able to learn from him for a few years. Your useful videos are informative and always interesting. Thank you!

That is a super-cool table. A real beauty in walnut. Good idea with the hand clamps. I wondered how it would come out without jointing those edges, but the refinished top looked beautiful.

The walnut grain was glorious and the repaired joins were scarcely visible. I have been watching the glue ups with greater interest since I now have a small task of my own. My spinning wheel only came with 3 wooden bobbins and these ones are fairly delicate. Unfortunately I dropped one and broke off about 1/3 of one end. I will work on the dry assemblage before I glue, as I have seen you do - but clamping may not be possible so I may just have to rely on tape.

That's nice work on the top.
I could never get those joints flat.
Getting the dowels correct is a lot harder than it looks.

Hello Tom, realy a nice work! I thought about the both butterflies spot on the underside of the plate, couldn't it be that wood reinforcement was incorporated here?

I would have loved to see what this table looks with the leafs extended?

Beautiful piece. I love Walnut! Kind of strange that if you slid the two halves together that they would want that 1 1/2" gap to be showing where the two leafs are.

Tom enjoyed the repair however i have to say with the heat wave here in ohio i found myself looking at the snow more and more. Mike

I know I am way late to the party but couldn't you have taped the screws to the locations in the base so you could put them back into the same holes? Just putting it out there. Your work is amazing and I'm enjoying working my way through your "library" of material.
