Well yes, if you come from a country that supplies all of the bare essentials then YEAH by from your own countries brands and goods. Because you are helping them out, helping your local economies, and helping to build your country to a more brighter future. And here's the reward it's much cheaper and also will give you that warm fuzzy feeling of pride within yourself. That's the old fashioned way of building a country it worked back in the old days and it will most certainly work today.

British food prices are expensive, I do buy what I can from the uk but it is pricey

I buy a lot of British sourced products from Lidl and Aldi they do get supplies from uk farms and food companies more than British supermarkets

Yes we should and would. But if you look in the supermarkets there is so much we can't produce due to selling off our assets so have no choice to buy things from abroad. Some Fruit cannot be grown here as we don't have the climate or growing infrastructure to do so.
