Lyrics :

Seems I got to have a change of scene
Cause every night I have the strangest dream
Imprisoned by the way,it could have been
Left here on my own or so it seems
I got to leave before I start to scream
But someone's locked the door and took the key

Chorus :

Feelin' alright, (uh oh)
I'm not feelin' good myself enough, (uh oh)
Well,feelin' alright, (uh oh)
Well,I'm Not feelin' good myself,(uh oh)

Boy you sure took me for one big ride
Even now I sit and I wonder why
And when I think of you I stop myself from cryin'
I Just can't waste my time I must get by
I got to stop belivin' in all your lies
Because there's too much to do before I die

Well,
Feelin' alright, (uh oh)
I'm not feelin' good myself, baby, (uh oh)
Feelin' ooooo,(uh oh)
I'm not feelin' good myself, (uh oh)

Piano Solo :

Intro Part :

Don't you get too lost in all I say
But at the time you know I really felt that way
Cauze I said that was then and now you know it's today
I can't escape I guess I'm here to stay now
Just until someone comes along and take my place
With a different name and a different face

Chorus with ad libs then fade

Until this day I do not understand why this great singer is not in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he is truly a legend.

Fell in love with him at age 14 in 1969. Saw him at a concert at Soldier Field. Saw him throughout my life. His poster above my bed. Woo hoo. Adored this man his music and lyrics. The best.

The “Mad Dog and Englishman’s” album is one of my lifetime favorites. So much energy, so much groove.

The voice, the soul, the herky jerky movements, man, I just love me some Joe. This is real music, when talent and ability counted. Its sad to think Joe would not make it today in the corporate sanitized music world. Glad I grew up in the 60’s.

I have friends who don't like Joe and his flailing around, but for me it is the best part of his performance, to get really into the song he is expressing the guitar, piano, drums, playing with his hands and body movements, and the groans of agony that we humans experience "you sure took me for one bad ride, even now I sit and wonder why" Never be another like Joe!

Thank you Lord for giving me the chance to see Mr. Cocker twice: 1974 and 2003. I was brought to tears in '03.

Real singer, Real musicians, playing REAL music. It was so great to listen again again to this. Loved watching the video. Joe has the wild eyes as he pulls every note from his throat and the jerky conducting moves is so classic.

Had the pleasure to see Leon play and jam with Willie Nelson at his July 4th picnic in 1997. Still cooking....still righteous....magic never dies.
