ONE PERSON'S TRASH... Dumpster Drop Leaf Table gets an AMAZING RESTORATION!

Показать описание
This vintage drop-leaf table was literally pulled from a dumpster by my friend Lamont from Best Bins—and honestly, I didn’t want to do it. Between split legs, botched repairs, rusted hardware, and a thick, dated finish, this was a major project.

But I believe in saving good furniture, and this Canadian-made table deserved a second chance. In this video, I restore it from the ground up: repairing broken joints, stripping and sanding carefully around layered veneer, de-rusting brass toe caps, and updating the look with layered walnut stains and a durable lacquer topcoat.

You’ll see how I:
• Repair broken pedestal legs and veneer
• Strip decades of grime and toner
• Use Evapo-Rust, Mohawk finishes, and General Finishes Gel Stain
• Update from red mahogany tones to a more versatile walnut finish
• Bring dull brass back to life with polish and paint
• And fully reassemble this once-forgotten piece

If you’re into furniture flipping, repairs, or vintage transformations, this one’s for you.

Always blown away at your attention to detail and how you always include the underside ( and insides ) of the pieces too. Another stunning result.

My toxic trait is I think I can do this just by watching these videos.

This is better than new!!! Lovely colour including the shiny brass feet. I hope it sells quickly. If I lived closer I would buy it in a flash!!

You have returned the dignity and elegance this poor table had lost! Well done!

Oh Angie, this is the furniture I grew up with, in my Nana’s house and every aunt and uncle’s as well as ours. I could smell the furniture polish at the reveal. Tucked so neatly under the dining room window with the African Violet on the lace tablecloth, until the leaves came out and it grew to accommodate everyone. What a beautiful save this one is. Thank you for the memories this brought back.

Wow! what a result. I mentioned once before that you are the most detailed restorer on You Tube and you proved it once again! This table is beautiful 😍

Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for saving this table. At first didn’t think it could be saved but you always come through. 😊

"...because I can." LOL Well, I for one, am glad you did. It turned out very nice. And you're right, the natural color of Mahogany is absolutely gorgeous. I wonder why it is so often such a red tint on most finished furniture. Do you know? I love the rich color of the red but the natural look you showed us in this video is so warm and I love it too!

This style may not be the most trendy but it's right up my alley. I love traditional furniture and without the red tone it's really beautiful.

This table looks exactly like one I got from my grandma. I remember it being in her house my whole life, it must be at least 60 years old. It also needs to be refinished, gave me new interest in refinishing it. Thanks for sharing!

We had a table just like this one when I was in elementary school. We sat around it to color in our coloring books wth friends, do homework and have family dinner every night. It was the base for many blanket and pillow forts. May this beautifully restored table also serve as a center for family life for many years and reward all your skillful work.

Always amazed at the standard and level of finish you achieve. Your understanding of finishes is second to none. That’s the detail. Your design decisions are the icing on the cake.

I'm the guy that looks at a wrecked piece of furniture and says, "throw it out". I am always astounded when I see how beautiful wood furniture can be restored. Your work is high-quality I'm sure makes every restored piece desirable to many. I love that you cleaned and refinished the brass leg caps instead of leaving the patina because the finished piece looks brand-new! Hello Nova Scotia, from Saskatchewan!

Gorgeous, Ange! Makes my heart so happy that you were able to save another piece to carry on for many, many more years! 🎉

You have such an eye for knowing how to bring various pieces together. This piece looks brand new! Thanks so much for showing us how you bring these together.

Gorgeous! You know, I just realized today that you changed your reveal music. I loved the music before, because when I found your channel 3 years ago I was spending a ton of time up in Mercer, Wisconsin where my in-laws live. I am originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin. My mother-in-law was sadly dying of cancer, we were very close. Your videos really calmed me and helped lessened my anxiety and I almost always thought of her at the end of your videos. So thank you. ❤️

It’s so beautiful again! I think these tables are so versatile so I am really glad you (and your diver friend) saved it from a dumpster death.
