First Impressions | Milani Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation (Acne/Scarring)

OTHER HIGHLY REQUESTED FOUNDATIONS I’VE ALREADY TRIED:

Revlon Colourstay Foundation (Original) - While I really liked the finish & wear for this
foundation it ultimately caused me an allergic reaction and it also made me break out,
so unfortunately I will not be trying Revlon foundations in the future!

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24Hr Foundation - This is one that I’ve been getting the most
questions about recently. I have tried this foundation (I used to work for Lancome!) unfortunately this foundation does tend to oxidize on a lot of people and the lightest shade in the range ended up oxidizing badly on my skin and being too dark/orange for me so I don’t use it because there’s no suitable shade for my skin tone.

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ - I initially really liked the look of this foundation but
throughout the day it started to seperate really badly and made it look I had dry patches all over my face that the product was clinging to, even though my skin wasn’t dry at all.

I love your foundation reviews. I hate when people with clear skin are like " it's full coverage" like how can you tell your skin is perfect! I suffer from acne and scars so I love that I can trust your reviews.

Milani is geared towards tan/olive skin, specifically Latina women, which might be why the shades run that way (still, not very inclusive!). But this is also the reason only some drugstores carry it - they place it in areas with higher Latina population, just like Black Radiance does. I found this out a while ago and thought it was interesting :) in my college town there is NO Milani but when I go back to my parent's house (2 hours away) with a larger Hispanic population, it is in every single drugstore. (I just noticed other people have also mentioned this in the comments!)

Yes, the shade selection does suck for lighter skin tones. But, this is the only foundation in the drugstore, aside from the Loreal pro matte, that has a shade that works for my NC 40-42 skin. The drug store isn't the best for catering to golden undertones/tan-deeper skin tones. I can't tell you how many foundations at the drugstore give up on shades after medium.

This line is aimed for women of color that's why the lightest shade is so dark. :) Which is great because most brands have shit shade ranges for WOC and have like 37273848 shades of white.

Milani was a company made for colored girls so that's why it looks dark! But if you want something to make it lighter try the nyx foundation lightener!

People don't realize Milani as a brand originally was geared tword Latina and darker skin girls.I can understand that because how many times are darker girls are left out of other brands but do think they should expand, I mean why not.Smart for them maybe professionaly but maybe they want to stay true to their original roots.Who knows?
