Recently, we posted a video about a can of sweetened condensed oat milk that we'd gotten from Whole Foods and let us just say, the comment section went WILD! People couldn't get enough, whether it's because they'd been in search of a dairy-free condensed milk substitute for ages or simply just because they love oat milk.

So to our oat milk fans, lactose sensitive friends, and all lovers of sweetened condensed milk - this recipe goes out to you! This smooth, thick, homemade sweetened condensed oat milk is the perfect addition to your Vietnamese coffee and of course it's dairy-free! The base recipe is very simple with only three ingredients: oat milk, sugar, and xanthan gum.

The key ingredient here to making a condensed milk with non-dairy milk is adding the xanthan gum as a thickening agent. Be sure to sift the xanthan gum when adding it to avoid any small clumps of powder in your mixture that will be difficult to break apart and whisk. Once the gum is added you'll notice that the condensed milk graduates from a thin syrup to a thicker consistency.

One of the best parts about making sweetened condensed oat milk at home is that you can customize it to however you like! Opt for your favorite sweetener or a different kind of non dairy milk to your liking. You can also add a few drops of vanilla, ube, or pandan extract to upgrade your flavors!

INGREDIENTS:
- ⅔ cup of granulated sugar
- 2 cups of oat milk
- ¼ tsp of xanthan gum

You don’t give any measurements. That’s unfortunate and not helpful.
