I recently got into sveltekit and this is what I’ve been looking for since I quit developing a few years ago … stuff I wanted to build was getting too complicated to do alone, now I feel like I’ve unlocked a new level.

I am so grateful Sveltekit is here. Frontend development has always been intimidating to me. Started learning backend few months ago and thought I would never do frontend.

I am no JS developer. But I was able to build a front end chat application from scratch using sveltekit and tailwindcss. Using Claude Sonnet. 🤯

I use rails... but I'm heavily considering switching to svelte and sveltekit.

Svelte still has gaps and caceats. It still needs 2 more years to mature, if at all.

Buddy, Laravel cannot be touched! Especially because the JS community keeeps evolving for decades only to end up in the same place where it started.

That is not the direction that frontend is going, it is the direction you tool creators are driving us towards. Hope after we reached there, we can be open enough to understand the good and the bad parts of erasing a job role.
With having said that, I am welcoming the change as I can still see benefit for the users but not super excited about it, as it seem it is driven not by the need for better UX and DX but rather for the need to build companies and make money around the frameworks and tools....
Open source is not open if you got us vendor locked.
Open source is not open if it is driven by the corp needs...
