You can also use drifter jets to close the gap quickly too. It is faster then adrenaline pump. Jump, crouch and hold, then drift in the direction you want to go. Timing is difficult, and situational, but simultaneously rewarding as it is fun. Downside is getting a hit while drifting and hit registration of the knife is another story.

I love melee kills in games. I don't often get the chance to melee in Planetside 2, but this one implant (called Vampire or something) is something that kinda encourages me to try and get melee kills since I don't have Regeneration (I play too many games with auto/pasive health regeneration). I just need to get good at the game to be honest. Flanking is usually my favorite tactic, but in Planetside 2, it sometimes feels like flanking is impossible. Lol

tried it, doesn't work. In most occasions, enemies backstepped faster than I could sprint forward towards them = no way to close the distance. even within Melee range hits aren't detected at all. Took me 40min. to get just 3 knife kills with the power knife.

Correction though, after the most recent update there is no longer delay between sprint and melee.

I am a nc heavy/la main and my suggestion is to bind the quick melee key to a key that you can instanly click without seeing the keyboard. This had let me outdamage enemy countless times. I am suprised to see people don't have the quick melee habit in this game

Yep but i only do the pump action knife combo if i know i can get away or if the heavy is on his own

When you're a sniper infiltrator who gets caught in close quarters, is it better to go for a melee combo with the pistol, or to just perform wielded attacks? I play as one often, and close quarters is probably what I struggle with the most.

I'm wondering, does power knives show you to enemies on the minimap with the sound indicator?
(During activation, while activated, and/or while doing an activated attack?)
I find that i am being pinpoint targeted even while deep cloaked regardless of the noise from the surrounding battles if my knife is active.

on which key did you set the knife ?? ;) cause I think the middle mousekey is to hard to hit so quickly and i don't have any ideas which key i can use

It's rarely used because there is too much room for error, most of the people are familiar with knife animations from previous FPS games which have assist and corrections as well as some form of knife lock down similar to Battlefields knifing mechanic or knife lunge which is more common in Call of Duty. Personally if I have to knife you more than once in a game where timing is quite literally EVERYTHING, then there should be some form of knife lunge. People walk backwards as fast as you walk forwards so closing the distance after missing a knife is just not happening, you've basically spelled your doom unless you have fast fingers complemented by your intelligence telling you to shoot immediately after missing your first knife, though in a game where it takes 2 knife swings to do the job the game basically makes swinging twice muscle memory, so it isn't uncommon for people to swing twice and miss finding themselves melted at point blank by a barrage of bullets.

There is a lot of things I find wrong with this game. I've been playing for almost 4 months now and the issues never stop flowing, I play on console so I don't know if any of this applies to PC, as the transition from platform to platform varies.

You can knife heavys by using a pump action shotgun and tyen knife

I did enjoy the video, though I've already been utilizing the "knife combo".
Sometimes I just want to get on and not be met with a hail of gunfire, so I'll go the sneaky route and use stalker cloak with cross-bow, we all know that it's only good for head shots on infiltrators, so the 1 shot + knife combo is ideal when using the cross-bow on targets that are just healthier than infiltrators, it helps reserve ammo as the cross-bow is pretty limited.
On a side note I can't help but feel like a complete jackass for doing this. I knew stalker cloak was good but I didn't think it would be that good, all you need is good self awareness and placement, you can camp a spot for the entire game if the fight drags on long enough in that area. I found myself without ammo and almost 20+ kills every time I ran that loadout, I like to keep myself a good 25 meters from the enemies, safe enough distance from flash lights, if I feel like being even more of a ass I'd go do what everyone else does and camp a vehicle terminal and just relocate near it to prevent being discovered. Personally this is a cheap way to play and you progress much slower than just getting out there but it is fun.
