It is important to recognize the point that Senator Schiff makes that the presidential pardon powers should not be used for political purposes.
That the rule of law should be respected has to be defended as much as the Constitution has to be defended.
The personal discomfort that may be involved in doing that is not an excuse for not honoring the oath of protecting and defending the Constitution.
