Looking at Brandenburg today, it's amazing how they rebuilt after that tornado. I have nothing but respect for people who are able to start over and rebuild after destruction like that.

My mother was 15 years old and still isn’t over it. After my grandmother passed, she won’t go back. My brother and I are doing a walk through tomorrow.

I was four years old and I remember it vividly. About an hour before it hit I remember they sky being this dirt brown color. It just didn't look right. Then it turned very dark green and yellow. I saw the tornado at Eastern Parkway and Bardstown Road as it was heading into Cherokee Park. The thing was huge. It looked like that tornado that hit Tuscaloosa back in 2011 but darker and more powerful. I still see the tornado in my dreams from time to time.

Thank you for including the video from the late Bruce Boyd and the still picture from the late Fred Stewart from the storm that ravaged Xenia, Ohio, that day too.
The area up here still retains some scars, if you know what you are looking at. Examples are the rebuilt homes, still vacant lots, the 'odd' misplaced driveway, a survivor older home sitting amongst the newer constructed homes, survivor trees, etc.
Like Louisville, Xenia had the "pitch in to help any one in need" attitude which helped clean up the mess and begin rebuilding the affected parts of town.

Pulaski county was hit by 4 F3s and my mom nearly drove into the tornado at night and lightening allowed her to see it and stopped. Got rolled over half a dozen times in a Camaro. I wasn't born for another 10+ years.

I was a senior in Hs at Bradshaw in Florence, Al. Sky was green and Angry. Storm went over us and crashed into Killen, on into Limestone Cty. 2 twin tornadoes carved a path through Morgan Cty into the Athens, Huntsville area. Numerous people died in North Alabama that night. IN 2008 WE HAD A TORNADO CRASH OUR NEIGHBOORHOOD IN Covington, Ga. 100 of 156 houses damaged. I WAS OUR HOA President and helped around neighborhood afterward. 2/16/2025 5:15 am radar indicated tornado heading our way . We were in closet with cats until Safe! RICHARD Thompson

Byron Crawford on clear channel kept us safe! Dick Gilbert’s broadcast was unforgettable. ❤ They built the I64 tunnels to save Olmsted’s specimen trees. They were destroyed.

I was 9 years old. We were all playing ball in street. I’ll never forget the color the sky turned. We were just little kids but knew it was not right…

I was 9 years old and sheltered in a well house outside of Elizabethtown. We lost our roof but was lucky otherwise.

I was 6 in Huntsville Ohio. We had a small brick building that everyone piled into in a trailer park. It sucked the door off its hinges and everyone in the building screamed. It sounded like somebody whipping the ground. Everyone in the building survived. Everything outside was destroyed.

Great presentation but why did you need to use the one photo taken from the Xenia F5 that same day? I recognized it right away. I live less than 15 miles from there.

That ThunderBolt 1000 Siren atop City Hall. When it activated, like others in the city, we knew something meant business. I was at work Celanese Piping Systems 2929 West Magazine Street on 2nd shift. The next day, i drove up to the highlands on Bardstown Road and to this day still stunned at what i seen of the aftermath.

My mom was going to visit a friend but if it wasn’t for a quick trip to Dayton she would have been in the storm she said the damage in Ohio was unbelievable she doesn’t say much. Because those that were killed still hold a place in her heart. ♥️
