Replacing the cord of a roller shutter

It's also a good idea, when re-winding the roll shutter, to clean the slats as they are re-wound. This is especially convenient if the roll shutter is mounted externally and access to the insides of the slats is impossible if the window is of a type that cannot be opened.

Note also that sometimes the spring roller is located inside the roller box, so it is a little trickier to attach the new cord.
