And if you don't have any drawing supplies you can always use your own blood and start drawing on the walls. That's what I did...

The very first thing: Draw every day. Even one little doodle, one margin drawing of a smiley face. Train your mind and hand to draw every day, and you will constantly improve, sometimes slow, sometimes fast, but always moving forward.
The very second thing: draw "iteratively", meaning draw the same thing over and over. Draw the same hand ten times and you will find the tenth is way better than the first. Draw the exact same character in the exact same pose and you will find the new better than the old. It seems un-creative, but it allows you to improve the pieces you failed at last time. You'll just copy the perfect nose you did last time, but maybe put more thought into that wonky foot you ruined. You will learn a lot from repetition. Just remember to feed your creativity with new drawings as well!

This is what I need. I hate when some pros try to teach beginners how to draw. While they teach, they draw like a pro. Go to the basics, especially shapes.

_Guys. Guys, he is right. All great artists had started from the very bottom in the beginning. I now own a very nice tablet, but when I started to draw, I didn't have access to that. I didn't even have printer paper. Line paper and an old-fashioned #2 pencil that was 50 cents was my start. As time went on I got better and got better stuff. And my anatomy didn't look like a spaghetti SlenderMan. BUT I started with barely anything and it wasn't much of a difference. I was still drawing and doing what I absolutely LOVE~_

_Keep it up newbie artists! You will get there!_ <3

I concur with you, Mikey. I believe anyone can draw - it's a skill that can be learned. And you can use just about anything too; no expensive materials are needed! Thanks for the video and keep sharing your knowledge.

Good message! Just sit down, and draw something you like, with whatever you have on whatever you can draw on. I started drawing seriously aged 7. I was influenced by Sailor Moon's and Dragon Ball's interesting artworks (I didn't knew what it was or if it was good or not, it was looking cool!), but we where super poor so my mother was unable to buy even cheap drawing paper for me. So we ended up using the empty pages in the front and back of books that my mother collected during her lifetime. I ended up filling the blank pages of almost 3000 book using the cheapest pencils available. Today, almost 20 years later, it's my secondary income, and I'm working on making it my main job.

love how simple you make the first lesson, most people get weighted down over where to start and what tools to use. people forget all you need is the will and just do it. :)

I use to draw a lot when I was a teenager, I'm in my 30's now. Funny enough I found I have had my best ideas for stories and things to draw as I've gotten older and completely abandoned the skill. I tried to pick up the pencil again but the results are discouraging. Thanks for making this video, as vague as it is, it is the reminder to keep going because I will get there someday. Anyways, I'm using your channel to start my art journey in earnest. Again thank you for taking the time!

I have to say this is an exceptional tutorial. I've wanted to draw manga for the longest time but I feel I can now start in earnest. Keep up the good work in the new year!

Thank you so much! I haven't really been much into art until I started watching anime, and of course, your channel! I wish you the best of luck in the future and thanks for being my biggest inspiration!
