Ohtani’s outing was the 26th since 1901 with 10+ strikeouts and no runs allowed on Opening Day. It’s also the first time that pitcher’s team lost the game. Just Angels being Angels.

Non-Yankees fans don't care about Judge. Ohtani though? Even people who don't watch baseball know him

At this point it’s actually funny how often Ohtani is disappointed in his team

It's not that Ohani can't help the team, the team can't help Ohtani, can't score any runs can't close the game, their bull pen SUCKS.

Jessica Mendoza has a crush on Ohtani🥰 me too.
Ohtani is the man! He's not only incredibly good-looking & cool, like a cartoon character.
Jessica's cute like a school girl.🥰

Angels never disappoint us when it comes to disappointing us.

Shohei doesn't worry about money. He doesn't need the money. It must be demotivating to lose all the time. I think he leaves if the Angels don't make the playoffs.

Man ohtani has to get outta Anaheim. Dude got 10ks gave up 0 runs and they still lost 🤦‍♂️ we’ll gladly take him in Boston tho lol

seriously? Dude hit a homerun and had a single, Ohtani was the only reason his team was in the game LMAO
NY Bias is so hilarious but I guess that's how he got his MVP last year.

This is going to be a good game I hope they go out and deliver plus more motivation for their teammates for sure.

Get Othani off the Angels. That was sad to watch last night.

Freddie's right, we Mets fans are always waiting for that other shoe to drop, or the sky to fall in. I think after last season, I'm going to try and remain calm & wait til September before I explode--provided we are still in the division race with Atlanta....

I predict and most sports writers say ⚾️htani will be the MVP in 2023, but Yankee fans feeling giddy because Judge homered yesterday, did you know Roger Maris also hit a HR in his first game (opening day) on April 10 1962 against Baltimore, and he did'nt hit another HR in almost 2 weeks (12 games) after hitting 61 in 1961, ended up with 33 in 1962.  Judge is a great offensive player, but he's not even close to Ohtani as the best player in the game, a top pitcher and hitter is twice more difficult and incredible, now Yankee fans are gonna say Judge plays defense, yeah making two or three plays a game in the outfield, Pitchers also plays defense and they do it 60 feet away, and Shohei is one of the best defensive pitchers in the game, he's like a 3 way player

How do you have the two best players in the league and still suck

Shohei had a better game even though his team didn't get him the w.

I woke up appalled seeing that box score. My man can't do much more for this trash side except hit 1-9 as well.

Even as a diehard Angels fan, I just want this man freed on a competitive team.

It's funny watching analyst Americanized Ohtahi. He had a chance to pick the Yankees, Mets and Red Sox when he was first deciding what team to play for and picked the Angels even though he could've gotten a bigger payday for the other teams.but chose differently. Maybe it's not as big a deal to him as it's with others money wise but maybe he's been in America long enough where he wants to follow up on being the highest paid player.
