We are robbed in season one!! We won't see our duke anymore!! Yes, the focus is in the duke and daphne, but Anthony's love story was still reducing our times to enjoy more abt the duke and daphne's relationship. Beside the duke is Anthony's old best friend, it'll be weird not having him in anthony's wedding

I'm sick to my stomach. Something must have happened during contract negotiations because the producers, showrunner and actors/actresses when interviewed about this, all said Regé would be in all of the seasons. I understand the show has to give Anthony a chance to shine, but geesh... Shonda Rhimes knows she knows how to get us with the SHOCK factor!
I'll watch Season 2, but am not as excited now that I know Regé won't be in the show; and he and Daphne's marriage and parenting won't be featured. It'll be like he's an absent father-just like his father-and I don't like it.
The only thing I can think of is the producers will start off the story from Colin leaving-therefore, this is before, Simon and Daphne have a baby-and Regé will return in Season 3.
On the bright side, I love the "Bridgerton" family. So, at least we'll see Daphne.

So disappointed in this turn of events! Season one should have been 15 episodes at least, if we were never to see Simon again! I think they initially planned to have Rege back for season 2 but it didn't work out, so now they are backtracking big time. I mean Anthony had so much screen time with his annoying character, and now they want to focus on him for season 2 even though most people never read the books..

For people saying each season is suppose to be about each Bridgerton sibling, you are correct. They would be the MAIN FOCUS, but there would still be other storylines like the first season. They could have had a daphane and Simon storyline honesty they could have put there pregnancy in the second season so we could see Daphne and Simon work through Simon journey of being okay with being a father. But it's better for the actor's career if he goes builds his catalog while he has the popularity.
But really Shonda? "Just rewatch the first season so we can keep having ratings" is your response. You just shouldn't have said anything at all.

I know season 2 is about Anthony but how do you write out Anthonys brother in law and best friend. I expected THE DUKE to have a smaller roled but NEVER did I think he would have no role at all.

Let us hope that this shows the industry that POC leading men ARE WANTED AND CAN SELL TICKETS! That a great actor comes in many shades and they can carry a story. From Henry Goulding to Chadwick Boseman, these men can embody sophistication, maturity and respect. That they can demonstrate strength by listening to their female counterparts and be willing to learn/step back when there is someone more qualified.
