Recent rumors have led fans to believe that a Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) remake is in the works and could release in 2024. In this video we look at what I want to see, and what I think we're likely to see from a 2024 remake of 2005's Most Wanted.

Id wanna see a prequel, not of the BMW driver but of how the blacklist first started. And show all those models in 2005 and later.

The only major issue I see is the music-copyright.

They wouldn’t be able to use all the same songs without getting the licenses again.

They dont need to remake this. Only remaster. Everything needs to stay the same. The gameplay, handling and the other things.

I think it would be cool if they had the old cars and the modern equivalents or worst case scenario just the modern equivalents

If it does happen, They should bring back the cut airport track, alpine drift track and have the drift physics from either ug2 or carbon. Hopefully they add rog as the 16th blacklist member just like the ps2 demo and revise the story a bit but keeping the original game feel And add the e3 cutscene in game and having the sliding garage door open but in a modern way and the m3 jumping over cops scene. I think Habib Zargarpour mentioned about the tracks in a nfs iceberg video somewhere. And have the cut content bring back on the game that fans always wanted to have ingame

Honestly? I want that. I want a game that has same physics as MW2005, same pursuit mechanics (apart for 1 hit kill of the spike strips), more cars, more wheels, more customization options, basically a MW2005 Expanded. It doesn't need to be a "Remake". They can add the customization from Unbound (minus the cartoon stuff, or at least an option to disable it), add online features and challenges like the ones in burnout paradise (there was a big enough online community for that).

1- Frostbite is known for being hard to work with just look the past Battlefield tittles and their struggles since BF3. Of course the Frostbite has evolved but still a difficult engine to work with. Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042 are an absolute mess. Unbound is not good, neither the previous game so... Physics has to be the same or good enough that we can do the same and what made the pursuits so good back then and i don't see these pursuits happening on today's engine.

2- Car License: this is a thing that we players need to have an open mind about it. After 19 years they probably not gonna get the same cars in and they probably will aim for the most iconic one the BMW M3 GTR. I'm fine if we get the same ish map, and all new cars, new bodykits, new wheels all this kinda of stuff.

3- Music License: another thing that will be very hard to get all of the original ones into the remake. And this is a very not much of a problem since you can just put the music volume on 0 and put the original music soundtrack on another app so...

4- The piss effect should be an option to toggle on or off
5- Speedbraker was fine the way it was. You use if you want it. I never need it. But if people want to use, good you have the option there.
6- No rubberband AI. Maybe gives 3 options of difficulty and that is it
7- Cops: Agree, boost the difficulty and how quickly you get heat too and of course tight these things up regarding cops getting you under or over floors, wall. But the pursuit should be the same as it was.
8- Blacklist: Absolutely. If it's not the same, make new characters, like a new story we are returning to Rockport and a new and longer Blacklist is in place

I think it would be cool to actually combine both Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon's worlds together into one large map for the remake like they did with their lesser known MMO game - Need For Speed World released back in 2010, obviously minusing some of the things in World and focus more on Most Wanted '05 and Carbon together. Have it split into 2-3 chapters with the first one set in Most Wanted's half, the second set in Carbon's half and the third set with the entire map. It should also fit perfect with both stories since Carbon picks up from where Most Wanted '05 left off. The main gimmicks with Carbon was District control, crews, canyon duel racing and even Autoscultping Customisation. Crews were interesting with 3 different roles that would help you in races.

While Most Wanted was set at daytime and Carbon at night, it would be cool to combine the aspects of both games into one large adventure which would make this remake of Most Wanted and Carbon be just as LARGE as their recent AAA Need For Speed games both in map size, customisation and gameplays as well as story. While it might be very ambitious combining *two* games into one, it can indeed happen. The reason why I am talking about *Carbon* just as highly as Mosted Wanted is that Carbon does things just as well as Most Wanted but even better even if it lacked Blacklists. It had better customisation and a more funner gameplay as equally as Most Wanted and had a great story too. I really am a bit shocked that not many people think about modding Carbon or if there is, I am not seeing many videos of it.

Oh yeah that third chapter using the entire world of Most Wanted and Carbon fits perfect with the day and night cycle. Also if there is an Online Mode, you should get access to the entire worlds and should have some features like Playlists and stuff. Honestly a Race Creator should be something fun to do for this game. I think the focus with Online and even offline after completing the main story should be up to you to customise your cars and make races or challenges. The music should also just get radio stations. One station focused on classic Most Wanted soundtracks, one station focused on Carbon soundtracks and about a few extras for newer songs that would fit perfect into a game like this.

The cars, some favorites from Most Wanted and Carbon and prior along with some newer ones... but no Track Based cars. It is a street racing game afterall.

I hope it doesn't happen. EA is gonna mess it up. No question

I'm not trying to overrate MW 05 in saying this but my main worry will if gameplay wise it'll just be Unbound but in the world of MW i.e., MW 05 with Unbound's driving physics and cops. Don't get me wrong Unbound is alright for a modern open world street racing game but compared to NFS games of the past I don't think there's a single thing it does better other than the customisation.

Kids now need to know what it feels like to race to good music. These games are the reason i became a metalhead and musician in my teen years. Would not be the person i am today without hearing Bullet For My Valentine, Mastodon, and Avenged Sevenfold on MW. A remake with the original music licenses would be game of the year

im hoping that if this is true they keep the game and car list set in 2005. a time-period correct game like assassin's creed or the mafia games but in the racing genre would be awesome.

speaking of the mafia games, a drastic graphical improvement along with a couple extra/cut things a la mafia definitive would be best for the game imo

Licensing is definitely the real issue. Especially with the cars.

This game has an impossibly high standard. Whatever they do, they won't match up to people's expectation.

Recent NFS game direction has shown us, that neither critereon not ghost "get" the essence of black box era.

I'm more hopeful for the fan projects (CoreX most wanted) than the official one.

nowadays we need to be careful what we wish for. i doubt itll meet fans expectations whatsoever.

Its a good concept, it really is, i loved 05's Most Wanted, but lets be honest. Look at the past few Need For Speed games EA made, especially Unbound. I just dont trust Ea to get it right

People here talking about the content, but let's be real here, the hardest thing for them to do would be to nail the physics. Because Blackbox did that several times with each new installment. Even if they use Frostbite, look at The Run

A carbon remake might've been a bit better, from my perception people don't care about carbon as much as most wanted, so that way there'd be more room for errors. Still we shouldn't have high expectations regardless

I think a really cool idea to tie the games together narratively would be to bring back the blacklist, but have the player character from MW'05 be the number 1 on the new list. Or they could take a more conventional approach and have him be your mentor/coach in the story as well. I think either would be a really cool ways to at least pay homage to the original

honestly if they are gonna make a remake of MW i would say, look at mod packs like the peppega mod but remove the memes, Add new cars ontop of the existing ones, add extra costumisations, expand the story with extra cut scenes, and ofcourse update the looks overall

As much as I always wanted a MW remake, Criterion are just gonna Ruin it.
