The red blue green cable is properly called component video. Also, I'm not 100%, since you video was blurry, but the connector you didn't have a damn clue about is a displayport cable (really only used on high end computer monitors, where displayport is king. Displayport is the best.) Look that up quickly, just to make sure.

Also, on getting a computer, if you get a desktop, which I highly recommend, home building is the only way to go. If your current laptops battery life is doing ya fine, then no need to replace it. Especially since in the newer versions of adobe, they are all completely CPU dependant pretty well for some reason. If you want a prebuilt, you will pay out the nose. (like an extra 300-500 bucks). And gaming laptops will still be costly, have a fair amount less performance (however in recent year they have gotten WAYYY better), and prob shitty battery life due to power hungry components.

If you do still want a newer laptop, I would recommend something like the MSI shadow. Great battery life on the go, and then at home you hook up to the external gpu and get decent gaming performance.
