All New Playstation Plus Launches in June with 700+ Games

Playstation has finally released official details of their upcoming changes to Playstation Plus. A three-tier system with multiple benefits and a pile of free games will be coming in June. Is this serious competition for Game Pass?

PS3 games are only via streaming due to the cell processor they used for that particular system. It was difficult to develop for in general and they never properly emulated it natively so streaming is the current workaround where it is run remotely. I hope they figure that out for the money they are asking for. I miss playing All Stars Battle Royale. I was a big fan of that game and would love to be able to play it again.

Me personally i just havent caught up to all of the video game streaming yet. I just finally got netflix a few years ago. It just hits way better when you go to the store and buy you're game or movie and hold it (I still even look at the vanilla ass covers and everything. It's nothing like back in the day). Maybe im just stuck in the past but I can say this does very much peak my interest. Have to check it out more when the time comes. Nice vid man

It really is mind blowing to me as someone who used PS now quite a few times (while living in a country that doesnt have it) how little people know about it. Cos its legit a pretty good serivce, just Sony had no idea or willingness to market it properly and it had a bunch of misconceptions like that its only streaming (which hasnt been the case for years now, only PS3 is all streaming, a lot of the games from other gens are fully downloodable). Cos this basically is just combining PS Now and Plus cos Plus is much stronger brand.

Anyways to answer the questions:
about ps3 - it is streamed cos the making games on it was super weird and emulating it on PS4 or PS5 would cost sony way more than keeping a streaming solution they created for PS Now and works fine if you have solid internet. Creating such emulator is probably possible but it simply makes no sense in their eyes.
As for the games on that 400 list - rn the US version of PS now has 367 games from PS4 or PS5 from what im seeing, a pretty diverse library one at that (btw, hopefully its better laid out in that new service cos browsing PS Now lists not on console is a chore rn). Probably its gonna be very similar/same library + some big Sony titles like already confirmed Returnal and Miles, maybe Rachet etc.

Also I completely agree that sooner or later Xbox will have to stop the day one games cos while it does provide arguably most value to game pass it also takes away their opportunity to make the money back on some expensive to make games. Someone can play through Forza or Halo with a 1$ coupon instead of even the 15$ that GPU would cost, let alone the 70$ they would want to make back if someone bought it digitally. That is not sustainable. Sony never offering it in the first place is smart business wise, cos once that day happens when Xbox will release a big game not on game pass day one or even they up the prices all hell will break lose cos its so much harder to take something away from the fans than give it.

Some games i would personaly love to play on ps4 need for speed underground 1 and 2, need for speed most wanted, true crime streets of la and ny, def jam fight for ny and vendetta, SCARFACE, 50 cent bulletproof, atv offroad fury 1 2 3 or 4, grand theft auto liberty city stories and vice city stories would love, midnight club 3 dub edition, mx unleashed, simpsons hit and run fuck ya, tony hawk underground 2, 007 agent under fire or 007 from russia with love, The godfather, The punisher, The suffering, silent hill series. Theres so many amazing forgotten games i play my ps2 more than my ps3 an ps4 now ps2 will never die.

I'm gonna need like a 7 day trial. I don't want to pay the $120 for the year and then find that the streaming sucks or the games are not good etc. If there's no trial then i might try it for 1 month and decide after that.

I thought of that too like PlayStation now and PlayStation Plus would be combined in any way but I'm a PlayStation Plus now subscriber I'll go with the premium I like that deal with the premium tier and everything will you play Playstation 1 to and for and everything off so yeah I can't wait till summer

It sounds cool, I will need to see if it is financially smart to do. I focus on mostly one or two games at a time, so I will need to see if that changes with this service. But I will definitely go and check it out
