Hey everyone! I shot this earlier in the week, it has been confirmed as of Thursday that AMD is flipping the stack with the 9800X3D and putting the cache underneath the CCD. This probably helped them get to a 5.2GHz boost clock (+200Mhz vs 7800X3D) and they say it's better for overclocking too. Stay tuned for reviews next week!

i have no clue why but that ultra hd photo just makes me smile

The cache now lives in the basement and it the attic

The first screen shot is scary. (For those who use DE razors) would probably know that those blade edge are waiting to bite you. Just one tiny touch and they cut you.

The image where you can see the v-cache is a mockup, a demo for a presentation, not something representative of an actual product's appearance. I've delidded v-cache CPUs before and they are visually the same as the non-v-cache parts. AMD has confirmed the change in the location of the cache die, but this would never have been outwardly apparent.

That's probably the reason why you can overclock them now.

We went from 8 bit to 16 bit to 32 bit to 64 bit. When will we see 128bit or, better yet, 512bit systems?

Is not a secret, it was confirmed already by AMD itself

Love your videos and you always help me make decisions. About a month ago I built my flight sim system with MSI x670 carbon MB and Ryzen 9 7950x3d cpu. Last week after a shutdown the system would not post and the debug digits on the MB showed 00 code with both red and yellow led lit. I assumed the issue was the MB so I ordered a new strix x870e-e MB from Amazon and it showed the same 00code with no debug leds illuminated! When I removed the memory modules, the yellow led came on indicating that the MB was sensing the missing memory. That led me to conclude that the failure is most likely the CPU. Now after that long and winding explanation I wonder if you have seen or heard of many Ryzen 9 7950x3d failures? I am returning the CPU to Amazon for a refund so I will have more CPU options with the x870 MB. The Ryzen 9 7950x3d is still 600 bucks and it did seem to run hot. I cooled it with a Corsair icue link h150i rgb AIO. With the lcd display I would see max core temps of 65 to 80c with idle temps of 50c. If you ask why I didn’t just keep using the MSI x670 carbon MB, while removing the CPU I unfortunately touched the socket and bent a few pins and while I think I was able to straighten them, I didn’t want to risk a 600 dollar CPU. Your thoughts on the newer AMD CPUs and ASUS STRIX x870 MB?
