Law Of Motion || Numerical On Impulse (J) || Lecture No.9
Newton's laws of motion relate an object's motion to the forces acting on it. In the first law, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. In the second law, the force on an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration.
The law of impulse, also known as the impulse-momentum theorem, states that the change in momentum of an object is equal to the impulse applied to it:
Impulse: The product of force and time interval, represented by the equation I = Ft
Change in momentum: The difference between the final and initial momentum, represented by the equation I = mv - mu
Impulse-momentum theorem: The equation that summarizes the relationship between impulse and change in momentum, F Δ t = Δ p
