As 14 yr old who lost his father when he was 12. It’s hard for me to keep my composure everywhere I go because i know that when i go somewhere he could be doing that with me . The day that someone calls me dad might throw me over the edge.

5:11 my grandma passed away from cancer. She was so tough she always came to all of my siblings events whenever we asked she always said she was fine and that’s always what I thought. I first heard about it a while ago and she had been fighting for 20 years so far so when I heard it was back I thought she would keep fighting but little did I know a few weeks ago she was put oh Hospice and passed away a few days ago we are going to her viewing later today. Hold onto your grandparents you never know what’s coming next

i lost my gigi from cancer. a few years or so after, we attended a walk /charity for ppl with cancer (our friend was the main representative). we all got lanterns that were different colors corresponding to who we were supporting. our friend (the representative) had fought cancer and won the battle, so we got a red lantern. people with white lanterns represented those who have cancer and are currently fighting. finally, the people with gold lanterns represented the ones they had lost. at the beginning, we were just given a lantern and didn’t know much. we did the walk, mostly just cheered and walked through a little path. afterwards, there were speeches. i teared up a bit, but overall it was really cute. this is the part that really got me. the main spokesperson told to raise up your lantern, high, if you are with (“representing”) a person that has won the battle. with my friend in mind, i raised my lantern. all red lights rose from the crowd. there were barely any. he said we could put them down. next, raise if you are with someone who is fighting. and finally, if you have lost someone. i heard the rustling of sleeves and jackets as people rose their hands all around me. as i opened my eyes, i was almost blinded by the galaxy of gold. all of the faces wielding their lanterns either looked proud or as sad as a person could be. i have a vivid memory of dropping my lantern and cupping my hands over my mouth to avoid letting a sob break loose. it was so beautiful, yet so, so saddening. all of a sudden, i feel a rush of memories with my gigi overflow my mind. i felt the tears stream down my face. i felt so many emotions in that moment, i can’t put them into words. i want you to savor every moment you ever have with a person, because they can be lost so so easily. please.
