I moved across the country from my friends in June, right after the school year ended. we were inseparable. It’s been hard meeting new people for the fear of loosing them too. One of them I met in 2nd grade and the other 1st. Lifelong friends. My friend has so many new friends, and I’m scared to loose her. And the other friend never had internet. I haven’t talked to them in a week. I had lived there after getting out of a rough spot, so I grew up with these people. Everything I ever knew was gone, it’s a 4 day car drive, driving straight/non stop, and the plane tickets are so expensive. What if I don’t see her again in person ever? I wish we could have hung out more often, because a few months before I moved, one of my friends had moved maybe 10-20 minutes away, and it went from next door neighbors to seeing each other at school only. And my other friends family were in a bad spot so they kept moving from state to my neighbor and back and forth, and we had spent so much time trying to get her back and begging her mom and all that, and it’s all wasted. I wouldn’t wish moving on anyone, even my worst enemy. Please, if you live by your friend and your reading this, or you haven’t talked to your friend in a while, please go say hi or hang out with them. You always regret not hanging out with someone a lot when you move.

My best friend and I met in 2012. I'm now the same age that she was when we met. She let me name her 2nd child. We've watched each other grow.

We called each other in the middle night and were eating a bowl of cereal at the same time without knowing the other was doing the same thing.

In 2019, I was looking for a sign to move back to Texas and she called me at 2:47am bc her & her husband couldn't think of a song we used to listen to back in the day & she knew I would know it.


She moved 4 days ago and I'm not doing ok. I'm happy for her & her family to embark on the next chapter in life, but I would be lying if I said that wasn't devastated when she said that they were getting on the road. At that point it sank in. That she was really leaving.
