The War Within pre-event shows Azeroth having a serious case of nostalgia with memories popping up across the surface. Threats of the past imagined or otherwise are a real threat all the same so rise up heroes and pop your member berries... I hope you'll enjoy ^_^

I would believe, that there is a connection between Ragnaros and Thrall in Cataclysm. Where Thrall accidantlly summoned Ragnaros. Which triggered the whole stuff with the Firelands.

I see the prepatch event memories likened to someone’s life flashing before their eyes before death.

I think khadgar constantly telling me "I remember this one" when he literally was chilling on outland growing the most epic beard in Warcraft history is gonna drive me insane

Yes, it is Marshall Windsor in Dustwallow. If you did the Ony questline as Ally back in Vanilla you get a dialogue option to tell him "I remember you."

Can someone explain how Khadgar "remembers this one" when he was stuck behind the Dark Portal for most of these events?

So, a few things I found interesting.

1. Out of everything that gets "remembered" The Twilights Hammer gets oddly forgotten by Azeroth. Why not add in void cult going into a Void expansion.

2. I feel like Azeroth is pulling from our memories somehow due to some of these events being EXTREMELY trivial. STV pages, Hogger, Deviate Delights, and others all seem more tied to our player experience than with Azeroth's core memory

I cant believe we interrupted jaina when she was trying reach magni about his car warranty

i think its because they are memorable to wow veterans. lich king, onyxia, ragnoras, hogger are the most famous fights with the latter being the strongest.

While I understand the possible Lich King/Yogg Saron connection, I think he's part of the event just for nostalgia's sake. If they really wanted to focus on the Old Gods, we would have had Radiant Echoes appear in the Twilight Highlands, Pandaria, Zandalar and Kul Tiras.

Sargeras: "My Burning Legion and I have manipulated events, leading to this final victory!"

N'zoth: "My whispers have warped the history of your world, leading to this outcome!"

The Jailer: "I am responsible for everything that ever happened!"

Xal'Atath: "Hey, guess what you guys..!"

Are we really doing this again?

glad I could finally hear the dialog... early on it bugged out on me and everything lost audio... it was also glitchy and buggy.

Here’s the rule:
Things are not planned for more than 2 expansions ahead of time.

The doing away with Murozond in a dungeon should tell you that.

The way xalatath holds the amulet suggests that it's verry important to her.

The old gods always had an uncanny ability to exist even after death and even exist and or even manifest in smaller pieces. Y'Shaarj was able to still exist through the very lands of Pandaria through not only his own heart and blood but also the very emotions made manifest by its people and with the experiments from the titans, this same matter can even come together to form an entirely different old god. The same could very well be said for Yog'Sarron, considering his very blood was used to build the Icecrown Citadel. It is likely that the citadel is as much a part of Yog'Sarron due to that very powerful yet equally mysterious Old God Blood.

Taking all of this into account, there is a chance that Yog wasn't kidding when he said he was the God of Death. See, what if due to having a high concentration of death magic in him, Yog was able to manifest a different part of himself in the Shadowlands in order for the void to infiltrate the realms of death, like the strange entity we know as the Maw. What if the Primus was able to imprison the Maw (yog) using its blood of sorts to create Torghast, an infinite prison to trap an infinite being among other horrors. Considering that Maldraxxians have been known to make use of their fleshy, whatever the heck it is land they live on, land to create all sorts of vessels structures and even weapons it doesn't seem to be too far fetch that they would try to make use of Old God remnants. Not only that, what if the Primus experimenting on the Maw is what lead him to inventing domination magic and all the terrible domination gear the Lich King would come to wear.

Honestly, I believe one of the reasons why Lich King and the Yogg connection makes sense is... the fact that we go to Ulduar for the third expansion of the worldsoul saga. There's DEFINITELY something latent being there, and Northrend was no accident.

honestly i think it wouldve been much cooler to "relive" things that happened on azeroth but we as the player never got to see, granted alot of these wouldve been dificult like the draenei crashing their ship, the original opening of the dark portal (yes i know caverns of time, but frankly 20 orcs comming out of the portal doesnt look that impressive) etc

I'll get thrashed for this but I mean, Lich king was created way after Zovaal saw this "threat" on the way, ( most likely voidlords and cosmological war), so lich king wouldnt exist in the first place if Zovaal didn't go mad and was imprisoned within maw, he captured master of domination magic and created the mourneblades. So Lich king is still somehow connected to the void because those events happened way earlier before even Ner'zhul was in plan apparently.

P.s: I still ride Primus being the mastermind behind Jailer theory, it all fits so well perfectly as it was Blizzard's original plan for the Shadowlands expansion. Even before expac reveal the concept art of Jailer indicates more Primus relevancy then Zovaal.
Other then that everything Zovaal did from being the Arbiter to being imprisoned in the maw and capturing "runecarver" doesnt make 1 bit sense.
Guy has no domination magic whatsoever, only confirmed figure in Warcraft universe that has created domination magic and can use it is Primus, the master tactician of Shadowlands... and he lost to bald arbiter in the place he imprisoned him within and already carved domination runes onto his body? gtf o man, it was always weird, even when shadowlands was live back then during 9.1.

Just remember....

"Vassal of life disguises treachery, beware the eyes of green" - LL'GYNOTH 8.3, PATCH RIGHT BEFORE SHADOWLANDS RELEASE (Ofc zovaal was "treacherous" one in SL since he "betrayed" his brothers and sisters)... just let that sink in

I find one memory interesting in particular! Thorim in Dragonblight. He seems to actually be aware that he's being created as a memory, wondering where he his, and that he recognises the champions. No other memories have done that as far as I've noticed.

@Nobel87, I have a theory, i believe the Dark Heart is actually the Karesh equivalent to the Heart of Azeroth, somehow brought here by X'alatath in ages past. Maybe that is how Neltharion was corrupted, by studying it ? He might have made the dragon soul after it. Also, what if when we "destroy" N'zoth, we actually allow him some access into the chamber of the heart since that is where that beam comes from, or N'zoth is in the dagger and he will do as X'alatath did, N'zoth is certainly not dead.

i like to think that the Season of Discovery timeline is directly Xal'atath manipulating original events and creating a sepparate timeline
