Repairing a Seam Split on an Inflatable Toy

In this video I repair a small seam split on an inflatable toy by gluing a patch inside of the tear so the repair is invisible. This works incredibly well on both pinch seam and lapped seam toys so long as the damaged seam is not tightly curved. This technique will not work on an inverted pinch seam.

If planning to do something like this yourself, make sure to do so in a well-ventilated room so as not to breath the glue fumes.

While I love to describe the many projects I have done, if they inspire you to do something, you do so at your own risk. The glues and solvents I use can be toxic and vinyl is not breathable and can cause suffocation.

Well, this will certainly be of use. There is a seam split on my spotted hyena, Aliyah, from HT. It is in a difficult spot, too. The curvature of the tail.... luckily, I have everything I need at least. Wish me

PS: My IW Tiger is soft again, thanks to you. Much appreciated!

Excellent - this goes along with a comment on the "reinforcing inflatable toys" video - I wanted to do an inside patch to close the said toy I am reinforcing - this should prove useful in doing the final closure of the reinforced toy .

How do you repair a waaay longer seam split?

Wondering if there are tricks I should be aware of that makes the process different from just this one but elongated

When I Find A Leak That's Pin Hole Size I Just Simply Use Either E6000 Or Beacon 527 Or Beacon Quick Grip Glues They All Work Great For Sealing Up Inflatable Holes Cause They Seal The Hole To Prevent Letting Air In And There All Waterproof And Flexible To Move With The Inflatable.

By any chance, have you seen my video where I turned an inflatable ball sprinkler into a normal beach ball? In that video I've done something similar to what you did in this video

Very good tutorial. Wondering if this works well when there is a long tear on the seem?? Like, 6 inches long or longer...Perhaps just cut a longer patch?? Thanks...

I have a flamingo swim ring with a rather large inner seem split will this method work for me? I'm not sure if it will hold pressure when i'll put my weight on it in water

Cant wait till self repairing final is a thing lol. My 5 meter whale got a pin hole leak a little while ago. Now that I've finally found the hole, this vid should help in repairing it...just got to find where patches and vinyl cement are sold...

Would rather go through the valve than making the hole bigger
