I just can't be rude to people like that. I have been in 30 minute conversations with strangers at the grocery store and while internally I am begging them to STFU and let me go, I just pretend to be happily into the conversation. Sometimes even the "well it was nice talking to you but I better go...." doesn't work and they just keep talking. I attract lonely strangers for some reason.
