After buying the terribly designed Otterbox Symmetry case (which Apple should be ashamed to push in their stores - it fell apart on day 2 under light use), I went looking for reviews. This site offered multiple thorough, clear, well-demonstrated reviews of iPad mini-6 cases (including one where the author updated and corrected an error he had made) that led me to this Zugu case - from a company previously unknown to me. The review was absolutely on target, the case is superbly designed for function and looks. It’s hard to find trustworthy and thorough tech reviews, but “Average Tech Guy” is way above average in my book. Great work. I’m now a subscriber.

I wore this case out after heavy use. Its been on my ipad mini, since i first got it. Its in my tool box. Fits in my pocket often. The cover is peeling apart. The magnet in case is great for hanging it off roof top ac and heating systems. Im ordering another one. Most cases are bigger making it hard to out my ipad into one of my pockets when i am on the go.

Dude. You should get commission from Zugu. I bought it middle watching your video. My main concern on this, or any case for that matter, is when reading the flap is annoying to be loose. That happened so much on my Kindle that I remove the hard cover altogether and remove it.

I’m a fan of Zugu—have one on my 2018 12.9 Pro (with issues)-have the Apple keyboard on my 2021 12.9 Pro. I have a Mini 5 and had a sort of similar case on it but I use the Mini a lot at night in bed to read—and a case was awkward and made it heavier so got a clear back for it so it handled better (not slippy) and put a glass screen saver on it. BUT—if I would use the Mini out and about (I don’t very often) i would add a Zugu—especially if I had a Mini 6 so I could carry my Pencil 2 and keep it charged. I have to use my old Pencil 1 with my Mini 5 and no way to carry it—the 6 is in my future but can’t justify it now. Really glad Zugu has made a case for the Mini—all pluses and no cons really.

Love Zugu cases. Only downside is that it weighs as much as the iPad mini. The folio case is a third of the weight of the Zugu case, but a lot less protection.

I take my iPad Mini out of it's current case on a regular basis when attaching to it to my car mount when I use it as a GPS.
How easy is it to remove the iPad from the Zugu case & do you think that the attachment points will endure this type of use over time? I ask because my current case faired well considering "years" of use - but the camera corner cracked open & needed some tape to keep it in tact.

The case has a big design flaw for right handed Apple Pencil use. The cutout on the side forces you to place it facing up. The natural and quick way to grab it or place it from a writing position in the hand is facing down on the magnet. You can even see it in the video at 3:40, he had to spin the pencil in his hand to get it to writing position. This would be annoying for someone who constantly goes back and forth between pencil and free-hand use.

I have the mini 5 woth zugu case and I absolutely love it (the case too). I like the design of the mini 6 but with the exception of the placement of the touch id. If this had face ID, it’d be a no-brainer. But for now i’ll enjoy my mini 5. Maybe i’ll end up updating in a year or two but for now im content. Zugu does make the best cases tho.
