Cat Runner’s probably a Talking Tom Gold Run copy, rather than Subway Surfers. Also, I downloaded the Forrest Gump game as a kid. 😭

From what I can tell, Cat Runner is not directly ripping off Subway Surfers, but another SubSurf clone that was made by, get this, the same people who made Talking Tom! It's called Talking Tom Gold Run, and it features Tom and his friends in a chibi like artstyle, very similar to Cat Runner. Same goes for the animations, mechanics and overall aesthetic. For example, in Gold Run, you collect coins to upgrade your home, or base, I guess. I actually played it a while ago, because I was a big fan of Talking Tom at the time, and I quite liked it. Apparently there's an entire Talking Tom and Friends universe, can't wait for you to cover that 🥴

You're actually wrong on the furry thing. Especially Zootopia. Their first advertisements used common furry terms. They knew what they were doing.

I actually remember playing one ripoff that was actually good. Top Gear Race the Stig. Your goal was almost identical to Subway Surfers but you were driving famous cars from the show (like Clarksons, ,Mad Jeremy" lancia or James MG Sailboat). You were also interrupted sometimes by Stig who was chasing you. Obstacles and power ups were also inspired by Top Gear (one of the obstacles was the Caravan train, when you get invincibility power up you were turned into Toyota Hilux from that one episode in which crew desperatly tried to kill it bit failed, or when you got, ,jetpack" boost you were turned into Reyalant Robin space shuttle from episode in which James and Richard tried to send the infamous three wheeler into space) .

Subway surfers is without a doubt the most nostalgic and easy to play game that I've ever played back in middle school, playing as a group of kids spraying trains and getting into an endless chase sequence from a cop and his dog was just chilling.

I remember the playing the minions game of the subway surfers back when it first came out. It was pretty fun at the time but i was also 12 so probably not the best age to evaluate things. I will say though as far as i can remember they did change and add quite a few things so i guess it's not a "real" rip off.

Fun fact: the Chinese version of pvz2 did a collab with subway surfers. Only thing I'll say is, the music from it is too much of a banger for pvz.

i remember i was obsessed with the old subway surfers ripoff that the people behind Animal Jam made. once in school me and some guy took turns on my phone to play it instead of being in class. for six hours straight.
that night all of my dreams were just animal jam flavored subway surfers gameplay. i could'nt even interact with the game in my dream. it was just. like if i was watching gameplay. the only thing it lacked would have been an equally animal jam flavored family guy clip and it would have been the experience of all times
