I love painting in black and white values so much that I sometimes just leave it that way. And I feel bad about painting over it especially if it's a high detail model or mini lol

Newbie’s question here so do you use it like slap chop to put colors on top of ? Or do you just leave it grey black and white ? Either way love the channel and love your painting I learn a lot from your videos 😁

I just locked up value sketching for my self. By using acrylic retarder and wet blending black and white until I get the contrast I want. When it's dried I start layering to strengthen the contrast.

Marc Masclans is value sketching with a black-red paint :D easier to cover than black and it also gives more color variations ❤ (the wolverine bust video)

I like mixing the black paint with greys to white paints as a starting point as I build up the layers for zenithal.
The dragon miniature turn out well, I wonder what colour it'll be the next time I see it? 🔥🐲

There was no explanation on how to do value sketch with a brush. How do I know if it's worth it for me if you don't explain on how to do it. Do you have a separate video showing on how to value sketch?

It really sucks that you limit yourself to army painter paints. I would be interested in following your tutorials if it wasn't for that.

Using the airbrush to value sketch when you're looking to level up your painting game by lwarning how to paint volumes, texture, and lighting kind of kills the entire point of the exercise.

Now using it for OSL or establishing a solid base coat for the source for the OSL is little different.
