Why NASA Loves Private Space Companies

Throughout the last few years, NASA has awarded many private companies billions of dollars in total. Whether it be for a lunar lander mission, or for putting NASA’s astronauts on the International Space Station, the agency has awarded a lot of money.

I feel it is a little unfair to say NASA spends unwisely, when it is the US Congress who mostly tell NASA how their money must be spent. This is one reason why some private space companies do better, by consolidating their builds in one place, rather than spread the work across many companies in many different states.
