This video shows you how to install a new serpentine belt tensioner in your 2007-2015 Mazda CX-9. The serpentine belt tensioner ensures the serpentine belt stays on the pulleys and turns smoothly. A damaged or loose tensioner could result in bigger problems, especially if the belt drives the water pump in your vehicle.

This repair was done on a 2007 Mazda CX-9 Sport 3.5L Sport Utility 4-Door AWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2007 Mazda CX-9
2008 Mazda CX-9
2009 Mazda CX-9
2010 Mazda CX-9
2011 Mazda CX-9
2012 Mazda CX-9
2013 Mazda CX-9
2014 Mazda CX-9
2015 Mazda CX-9

Tools you will need:
• Door Panel Removal Tool
• Safety Glasses

What if the tensioner is stuck? On my 2014 CX9 the tensioner rotates Counter clockwise but not clockwise like it is supposed to in order to release tension.
