I have very thick hair, and clay or gel just makes my hair look hard and gross, so what i found out is that you have to comb your hair while after getting out of the shower, blow drying it also helps, and then i use hold 5 hairspray and it looks good. Depending on the way it was cut also really determines how its gonna look like. I also trim it to maintain the same look.

I hated my thick hair in my youth and had it ALWAYS cropped short or a buzz cut. But back then in the 1990s, it was the fashion to either have very long hair or buzzed. Now I’ve learnt to love it and have a good barber who listens to me when I say “ tidy the sides and the neck but minimal trim of the top with some thinning.”
