Ancient Aliens, Pyramids, and the Great Sphinx of Giza

Standing at nearly 500 feet and weighing approximately 6.5 million tons, the Great Pyramid in Giza is the last remaining wonder of the Seven Wonders of the World. Because it is such a spectacle, it is the subject of many conspiracy theories, some of which are presented frequently on Ancient Aliens. Egyptologists say that the Great Pyramid and the other 100 or so ancient Egyptian pyramids were likely built by humans5 as tombs for Egyptian pharaohs and their relatives; however, ancient astronaut theorists featured on Ancient Aliens have other ideas about their origin and purpose. Ancient Aliens also has some theories about the Great Sphinx, which is located about half a mile from the main pyramid complex in Giza.

Although Ancient Aliens is aired on History, investigate what the show exhibits as fact. Just because the hosts are excited about what they are saying and seem to fully believe the ideas they are presenting, examine the evidence for yourself.

Calling the great pyramid at Giza a tomb is a perfect example of Christian mythology presented as fact! It is Nye unthinkable any intelligent people would spend the time and effort and resources to build anything that big, heavy, and complex as that for no good reason! It’s insulting and racist as hell!! Not only was there no body but there was also no evidence that a human corpse was ever inside the “Kings Chamber”. The so called “Tomb” was a 10 foot long stone rectangle! The problem is archaeological sites like this need to be studied by engineers not historians

I agree we should use all the information available to us and form our own conclusions. The problem with the world today (and I'm sure most of history) is that those in charge choose to present a reality that will benefit them the most. The governments of the world coming out and saying there are in fact extra terrestrials among us (and have been since the dawn of time) presents more questions than they may be willing to answer. It can present world leaders as weak if they cannot convince the populace they are still in charge and have a plan for everything. The idea of ancient astronauts is not mutually exclusive of a Christian believer's worldview of an all-powerful creator and this creator's nonhuman created beings helping steward the world. If you look at myths and legends worldwide of gods, demigods and other mystical creatures, it is not so far fetched to assume these myths started from some semblance of truth. You may not agree with everything the late Dr. Michael Heiser spoke of, but he painted a picture of scripture that not only makes sense, but fills in gaps that the modern church has conveniently left out of its teachings.
