Windows Live Movie Maker - Adding Effects

In this video, Mahalo Windows expert Sean Hewitt shows you how to add effects using Windows Movie Maker.

Step 1: Setting Up Effects
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If there is a certain length of footage you would like to add an effect to, split the clip into the piece you want to have the effect and the piece you don't. To do this, place your cursor (the thick, black, vertical line) at the point you want to split it and press the M key on your keyboard. Now click on the frame where you want the effect to occur.

Step 2: Add Effects
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Open the Visual Effects tab on the top toolbar (next to the Home and Animations tab). Choose the effect you want and select it by clicking on it.
For some effects, like Hue Cycle, you can adjust the brightness on the right hand side of the visual effects tab. This effect in particular can make a photo of a sunset look like a time-lapse video of a sunset.

I soooo need to know how to edit, sometimes I think I go way too long with my dialogue so I feel I need to cut it a little. Need to check out all the rest of your tuts for that. Thanks!

In the basic free edition of Windows Live Movie Maker, I want to know how to overlay a movie image in my videos when I am talking about a movie. I want the movie image to fade in to my left or right on my videos as I am talking, and not just for the image to appear in between my movie frames as a separate frame. So far, despite much searching of tutorials on here, I can't find a single one that will help me do that. Can you?

Can I have Chroma key effect with Windows Live Movie Maker? Thanks for answered me. Have a nice day.

I think for that you'll have to pay attention to where to cut the video and cut it, Then put the picture inbetween and put it back together, It's the only way that seems to work for me.

how do you change the hue. I don't want the hue to cycle thru all the colors... I just want one hue color.
