I lived in Purton in the mid 70s. Back then we had a shop/Post Office and 2 pubs. It was a wonderful, friendly village to live in. All gone now. There were many, many more boats visible in the "graveyard". Some were vandalized for their wood and others burnt. Nature had done it's thing by silting up around what's left and protecting the bank of the canal.

Hi Fran, Rich and Archie, I was fascinated to see that River Severn phonomena (I have trouble with that word too Fran - love your Muppet tune moment Rich!) thank you for sharing that - i've haven't seen that before.
Glad to hear all is going well on your Allotment, I started some veg seeds off on the window cill about a week ago and they're doing really well!
After having a mostly warm sunny week in Norfolk, particularly towards the end of the week, the rain came in this afternoon! Still saved me a job watering my garden plants!

The Anchor Pub is a good spot to watch it too, the surfers need to stay on crest continuously otherwise the momentums lost. Watching a Sunset bore is amazing.. :)xx
