🎤A special shoutout to our sponsor, Audimee!

This is a great singalong song, and without vocals it was pretty empty. I gave the singing a try myself, but this is a real tough one, so I decided to give Audimee a shot. After uploading my vocal track and listening back, I was absolutely blown away by the results. Give Audimee a try for your own projects. Link in the description.

As for the guitar playing in this song, it's mostly basic chords, except for that tricky C# minor on the fourth fret. The real magic, though, comes from Paul Gilbert’s unmatched touch on the acoustic guitar during the solo. I did my best to replicate his finger positions, but alas, I don't think I quite have his legendary fingers. We'll have to leave that iconic tone to him.

I hope you enjoy this video and have fun playing along! This song brings back a lot of camp fire memories.

The hand gesture while playing the solo… Mr. Gilbert would approve. Well done, sir.

I remember learning this one back in the day along with "More Than Words" & "Hole Hearted". It's definitely more of a fun, confidence-boosting tune for newer players than the other two. 😅

It felt like this song just took over when it came out.
As a teenage metal head it made my skin crawl.
As an adult I congratulate the band on their hit and see it as the "perfect song" that it is. Syrupy yes. But really good syrup!
And that's not easy to do.
Good work guys!
👍😊

A.I voice Mr Tabs would be the next Canadian Idol if he weren’t held back by his lack of tangible existence.

I ran into Paul Gilbert where I live years ago. We're like neighbors - and by neighbors I mean probably live in the same 10 mile radius, lol. He's tall.

We got to talking about Mr. Big and generally 80s "hair band" music. Fun fact he laid on me when I brought up the 2nd best tapper in the world, Reb Beach...Winger's "Miles Away" was offered to Eric Martin (singer of Mr. Big), but he turned it down. It was written by Paul Taylor of Winger, who later recorded it and turned out to be a big hit.

Nice guy that Paul Gilbert.

BTW, the opening guitar riff to "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" is a riff every lead guitarist probably wishes they could have written just to say they wrote it.

Love your vids, I just subscribed in the past couple of weeks.. Have you ever done a vid on all your guitars and gear? Would love to see that and was wondering what happened to that Les Paul Custom you used to play. It was an interesting color, almost like an orange and black burst. Cheers.
