I used to think granny square was the most trickiest crochet to do 😂 I made amigurumi and other stuff first before learning how to granny square. Silly me haha

Granny squares were one of the very first things I learned to crochet and I'm actually finding it hard to do other things I'm so used to them. I've been crocheting for three weeks on and off

As I've taught others, my biggest tips I can give:

Don't be intimidation by complicated looking stitches because most are just a combination of the basic ones.

Read through the pattern before you pick up your hook. Rewrite it in a way that's easy to follow if you need.

Consistency is often more important than accuracy.

Even tension will come with practice. Too tight, go up a size wirh the hook, too loose, go down. The size hook recommended on the label is a suggestion. Use what works for you and the particular yarn. Sometimes I go up, sometimes down, just depends on the look I want.

Granny squares were the very first thing I learned (from a friend) after she showed me how to chain. Once I understood the pattern of the granny square and that you are doing the same thing over and over again, it was really good practice for me to get into crocheting. I made like 30 before I tried to crochet anything else, and once I got to other stuff and stitches, it all felt pretty simple

Its honestly amazing how much you can do with just chains, slip stitches, and single/double/treble stitches. Up to and including *lace*

Granny squares are the trickiest crochet and I am 12 years old crocheting a king size granny square blanket for my mom and guess what!!! I’m almost done! And I hate life.

yess!! i personally prefer to start mine off with a magic ring instead of chains and stacked single crochet instead of chaining at the beginning of a new row, but thats just a preference! :)

It’s easier to start crocheting plushies because it’s more fun and the result is cuter.

I still don't know how to make one. I don't follow patterns or even know the stitches. I know I need to learn cuz there are so many awesome things to be crocheted.

I started with a blanket because it’s really easy just chain till the length of the blanket and then start adding rows with single stitch until you get the correct width you want and then tie it off and ur done super easy my friend

I actually crocheted lots of other things before starting granny squares but because of that granny squares seem soooo easy. I literally do them basically subconsciously while watching TV
