Funnily enough you can argue Barou is even more of a rival then Rin to Isagi since he said that Barou out of all players is the main one he never wants to lose to. Also between Rin and Kaiser its easier to be rivals when playing against then rather than with since Isagi doesn't just block his teammates like Kaiser did.

i love the rin vs isagi rivalry more. Rin gets better in his genius when up against isagi but isagi also learns more to keep up and surpass Rin and its a fun cycle to watch. The kaizer vs isagi dynamic isnt as fun to watch for me.

Regardless of who was better, they both had significant mental problems. I mean, Rin is out here trying to kill a man over football. Then there is Kaiser choking himself to win a game.

Rin is his rival and kaiser is more like one of his goals in his football career which is to reach his level. Since kaiser is theoretically what isagi would be in the future. Kaiser is the best version of isagi which isagi only beat him in terms of vision/playmaking. (one of the reasons why when they finally played together they absolutely wrecked the defense with ease due to their compatability and understanding of each other. )

I feel like In the u20 game they seemed to be like nice ish but I think that’s bc rin was too locked in of the fact that his brother sae has to use a bottle of hair spray to keep his hair out of his face ❤️‍🩹
