Sonic Origins Plus Is Fun But Disappointing...

I am having a ton of fun with Sonic Origins Plus. However there's a few issues that needs to be addressed.

In Sonic 2 Tails is the only character with no super form. Sonic, Knuckles and Amy have one. They should fix it

What baffles me is how on the same day Origins Plus released, Frontiers Update 2 released, which included so much content, quality of life improvements, and went as far as to fix momentum, one of the biggest issues with the game. The Frontiers team managed to do all that along with update 1–as FREE updates—in the 8 months Frontiers has been out, yet the Origins team could hardly do a fraction of that in a whole year.

Amy's insta-shield has an extended hitbox which makes it possible to drill thru certain bosses like a knife thru butter.

The part that surprised me the most is that i didn't actually hate sonic blast, which kinda disappointed me because i wanted a really shit game and instead i got a servicable early handheld game. 0/10

I hope they keep updating Origins plus, for me it needs more to be amazing. I would love love if they added more games and not settle for just 12 titles mainly 3d blast and knuckles and the chaotix. Also I think if they made Eggman and Metal Sonic playable it will make the game more unique especially story-wise with new cutscenes from the villain's perspective along side of course the list that you mentioned with level select, fixing the blur and etc.

Thank you for mentioning the Master System versions of the Game Gear games. It’s such a disappointment they didn’t include those.

Also curious if the spring into the spikes thing was fixed in Metropolis Zone. I still haven’t played the game, but I remember hearing it was an issue.

7:37 level select has existed since the game released. Idk why people keep saying it doesn't. Go to the main menu with the islands and go left of sonic 1, the museum slide specifically and go to my data and ranking (i know its a weird misnomer). Then just click on a stage with triangle (on ps but its different for other platforms).

Idk, i just hate that everyone is saying this despite it being completely false.

I'm definitely not buying this, metacritic and critics still giving the same score as the og origins. The only thing that looks redeeming is Amy and Ig the game gear looks fun but could've been remastered. I'm sorry for you playing heroes and getting sick :(

Honestly Knuckles in Sonic CD should have always been there

When you complete the new image in the surprise menu, you are rewarded 100 Coins and the cheat codes to unlock the Level Select Menus are added to the Tutorials when you boot up the games and in the Tutorials menus. They did not change how they are unlocked or inputed however so for Sonic CD you still need to beat Time Attack in under 25 minutes to unlock the Sound Test

I dont have the DLC, but something I noticed is that in the update that coincided with the DLC, control customization was added to console and they re-added the third jump button.

I've been thinking about getting it, it really is just because Amy is in it now, but with superstars being infinitly more interesting and already owning all those game gear games besides 2 or 3 on other consoles or my original game gear, I just don't see a reason.

Thank you for mentioning they should've ported the Master System games. It's unbelievable that SEGA always acts like the Master System never existed. They are also emulating the Game Gear games with a shrunk 5:4 aspect ratio instead of 4:3 which makes the image even smaller than it already is. The Games Gear collection is unplayable that way for me.
And yeah, it's also unacceptable that they didn't remove the filter on the 16-bit games or give us 3D Blast and Knuckles Chaotix 😭

Not sure if origins have it like mania's chemical plant, but the weird killing when "crushed" by two blocks at the rising water sections lowkey put a bad taste in my mouth 😂

One thing I haven't seen anyone cover... Are you able to change the item boxes in Sonic 1 and 2 into the Sonic 3 item boxes? Like the setting on the mobile versions.

7:32 I don't mean to be a nerd but all the games (excluding CD) have a secret level select. Sonic 1's level select lets you pick your character, cap your speed and air time, restore the spike bug from the original game, and even start the game with all chaos emeralds. In Sonic 1, you CAN turn off the spindash. It even lets you use both Sonic and Tails in Sonic 1 as well as hyper Sonic. Codes are inserted with the sound tests. This was all here since the beginning.
