We love the drama 💥💥💥

To enable the advancement of the conservation of USS Monitor artifacts, laboratory footprint is in high demand! So, when conservators were able to take apart the ironclad's steam condenser last year, it resulted in its old holding tank being no longer needed.

We partnered with Fairlead Boatworks and personnel from the shipyard came by last week to cut up and remove the tank. This collaborative effort freed up 500 square feet of lab space in our Batten Conservation Complex!
