COVID-19: Resident volunteers help with daily tasks at foreign worker dormitories

Manpower capacity at dormitories is getting a boost from resident volunteers. The Forward Assurance and Support Teams deployed by the inter-agency taskforce is working with dorm operators. Dorms like Sungei Tengah Lodge and S11 @ Punggol already have more than 100 resident volunteers each. They take care of tasks like maintaining cleanliness and hygiene and helping to distribute meals and supplies. The Manpower Ministry said the extra help means authorities and operators can better focus on other key issues like safe distancing measures.

Saw below some comments i am not sure if we see some opportunist who just maybe want garner some likes or some who failed in life and now commenting how bad the government is where they in the first place WHY not qualified to run the country. A lot of factors contribute to why it spread wildfire among the dormitory. Don’t just point one direction. Speak with brains.

Some of the comments are so sick. I mean guys, those people working on dorms left their homeland and came here to work for us. So sg gov has the responsibility to give them the best care and I hope they are doing that. These people left their families, kids, stayed here for years leading a difficult life. They sacrificed their own lives for the sake of their family. They didn't go to china and came back with the virus. It is the people who went for CNY celebrations. Poor people, it infected them and many workers staying with them. I Hope and pray to god that they all must get cured and return healthy. Not only them, those who are suffering from covid 19 worldwide should get cured soon! Almighty should help all of us

Singapore government overwhelmed, they don't kick them out from Singapore, still they provide them nice meal 3 times a day and free WIFI/Data Card and some cash $$.

overcrowding and lacking facility maintenance can be blamed on the dorm operators is understandable.but before the spread, don't tell me all this while the foreign workers living in these dorms all no need to do their own area cleaning? not responsible for cleaning up after themselves?

My humble request to Singapore government please move to somewhere else from dormitories cluster those are still physically well, unless day by day rest all might be in new cases.
