Consider re-installing the outboard (port side) boat boom and associated gear and keep it swung it out, rigged for boats. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE GREAT VIDEOS OVER THE YEARS!!!

Always learning nautical terms regarding battleships like "hingey piece"😂

“If we can find some more information, will flash it on the screen here.” That’s a clever bit of video work!

Sounds like yet ANOTHER project to plan out - the Boat Boom rebuild and LOVED the reference to the 'hingey piece' LOL sounds like what happens around here

Fore and aft boat booms were hierarchical, too. Forward boom had all the Crew's boats, and the after boom was for Officer's boats (which gave space for visiting barges & gigs to tie up, ans well). Port and starboard was to allow rigging out the booms on the lee side of the ship (but, on a mooring buoy, alternating was not uncommon, so Port, Fo'ard & Starboard, Aft; or vice versa could be set out.

It would be nice to find the old boat booms and or recreate them and reinstall them on the BB.

It is neat that you have some boats for the ship. I hope you restore the boat boom on at least the off shore side of the hull. TM who likes small boats.

I guess they became redundant after the transporters were installed. ;-)

I was wondering about that during the drydock tour. They certainly didn't put much effort into it, almost like they figured on welding them back together at some point.

QUESTION: What effect would modern Antitank weapos have on New Jersey. For example A 120mm discarding Sabot round hitting the armoured box and if it penetrated what damage. Or a HEAT shaped charge like the Royal Marines hit the Argentine A69 corvette Gurrecio at the battle of Grythviken in 1982 with an 84mm Carl gustav

Ryan, Have you ever thought of using one of the battle ship’s utility boats to transport visitors from PA to NJ?

On the starboard side near the aft brow, there are remnants of individual rung-style ladders once welded to the hull. Why do the ones on the aft starboard side have what look like "washers"?

As you paint, could you discuss which plates are welded and which plates are riveted? And why? And what this did to weight distribution and strength?

A cool capital project would be to build a replica boat being lowered from one of the booms.

A full circle video of the hull from the paint float. also the outside of the nixie doors. Closeup of the anchors themselves. Have you done a video on anchoring yet? or was that done in the wayback?

All the years it has sat there and you're still discovering new things about her.

If the accommodation ladder still exists it would be interesting to see it rigged at some stage . Boat trips might be a possibility, but with today's health and safety it might not be a viable idea anyway . Boarding a larger ship from a boat is an evolution that hasn't changed that much over the years .

Do you guys still have those stairs that'd be attached to the sides?

Little Piggies. HA. Keeps me coming back for more.

Did the boats run off gasoline? Or fuel? Did the BB have to get supplies for the boats in addition to everything else?

If she was a Flagship what particular spot on the hull was used for all that quarter decking stuff? Did the Navy take time to muster the sides?

I wonder if there are any stories that probably could now be safely told of women visiting. Maybe they had their own boats.

Was the OOD responsible for boat traffic or did the Captain have to get involved from way up there on the Bridge every time a piggy stopped by?

Please rebuild at least one of the boat booms.
