Behind the scenes on a Royal Navy frigate

HMS Richmond is a Type 23 Duke Class frigate serving in the Royal Navy, the seventh ship to bear the name in the Senior Service, with the first HMS Richmond named in 1660.

Based at HMNB Devonport, she can carry 185 personnel more than 7,800 miles, with a top speed of in excess of 28 knots.

Techniques have been honed and lessons learnt from WW1, WW2, and the Falklands + many more conflicts and other instances such as HMS Nottingham in 2002. All very effective and work greatly to keep the ship floating.

There's a lot variety when it comes to warships, even just with the RN, nevermind other navies. But my favourite platform is a Type 23. I was part of RCMD's BOST 10 years ago now and it was the best training I've ever had.

That deck looked a bit rusty, what has happened to the crew painting ship at any opportunity available. Wondered where the horn off the bike went.

Have you thought of using water canons for anti drone defence.
Like water blasters, maybe with multiple nozzles pointing in the general direction.
Could be useful for some types of drones, plenty of water and a holding tank in a elevated position could give instant supply.
Aiming it in the right direction could be achieved by just opening the valve of the nozzles pointing in the right direction.

ships my change for the better at times but the mindset of a sailor is the same when away from family and friends as it has been for years

Life is very hectic on s frigate....everybody got lits of duties...it is not good for old sea dogs....only young officers and young ratings fitted the job....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
