Kurt Angle On Brock Lesnar’s Botched Shooting Star At WrestleMania 19

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle speaks to Chris on Brock Lesnar's missed shooting star press in the main event of Wrestlemania 19 and how it was his idea for Brock to attempt the move. Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1996 Olympics. He began his WWE career in 1999 and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2017.

Brock really should’ve got down from the ropes when he saw the distance was too big, pulled Angle closer and then got back up there. Yeah it would’ve made the spot look a bit more clunky but would’ve got it done. He must have known the distance looked awful from up there.

Brock vs Angle was such a great rivalry. Two absolute freaks of nature clashing in very intense & hard hitting matches. It's also great that Angle is one of the guys Brock really liked & enjoyed being around.

Man I remember seeing Lesnar doing that Shooting Star Press in OVW before WWE and was wondering why he never did it in WWE and I remember popping when I saw him take off then when he landed I suddenly realized why he didn't do it in WWE.

Shooting star press is usually executed close to the turnbuckle. Kurt was too far away from the turnbuckle, combined with the fact that Brock appeared to slip. The nerves certainly wouldn't have helped.
